Building on a more than 10 year experience with MES across different companies and profound knowledge of Smart Manufacturing, IoT/IIoT and Industry 4.0, Stefan joined Georg Fischer at the business unit GF Casting Solutions. There he took the opportunity to lead the companies Industry 4.0 journey on a global scale. Understanding that not the recording of data but the usage of them is what matters, bringing this understanding to his peers is by him regarded as his biggest accomplishment. This supports his believe, that Smart Manufacturing is not about the technology which will be used but that the biggest opportunity across manufacturing is to enable the people to make the difference.

"For me the topic of Digital Transformation, Industry 4.0 and Smart Manufacturing is not about a job you do from 9 to 5. It is my passion and what drives me 24x7. I believe we have right now the best opportunity to transform not just our Industry but our entire Society. We have the chance, if done right, to enable the human workforce to not be longer in competition with automation but be able to focus on what we are strongest at like Creativity, Innovation, Imagination, Intuition, Ethics and Emotions.

This requires not just changes to industrial organizations but also the proper infrastructure around it like education. Making this a reality, is what drives me every day."
