Henning Mersch (born 1978) studied Natural and Computer Science (Naturwissenschaftliche Informatik) at Bielefeld University. He started his professional career as a research associate in the field of bioinformatics at Bielefeld University. Afterwards he changed to Forschungszentrum Jülich for research in the area of distributed systems and grid computing just before working as a research associate and doctoral candidate for the automation domain at RWTH Aachen University in the area of Process Control Engineering.
After working several years in the scientific area and obtaining his doctorate in the field of engineering, he started his career within the industrial environment in 2012.
Since then he works with Beckhoff as a Product Manager for TwinCAT automation software. In this function, he is responsible for security coordination and acts as C++ and connectivity specialist.
Henning Mersch is member of several working groups within German engineer associations VDI and VDMA.
