With over fifteen years of experience, he has produced numerous syndicated and custom research projects, and consumer surveys, covering a range of electronics products in both the industrial and consumer space. This coverage has included analysis of competitive environments, business models, technology trends and end-user requirement in addition to traditional market sizing and forecasting.

Responsible for IHS’s coverage on Smart Manufacturing and Industrial Communications, Alex oversees research on a range of transformational manufacturing technologies including the Industrial Internet of Things / Industry 4.0, 3D printing, robotics, as well as developments in industrial communication (Fieldbus, Industrial Ethernet, and Wireless). Alex is a regular speaker at industry events, tradeshows and conferences worldwide.

Alex holds a BSc (Honours) in physics from the University of Bath, England is based in the company’s Wellingborough, UK office.
