Mr. Mario Buisán is currently Director General of Industry and SMEs and has previously been Head of Cabinet of the Secretary General of Industry and SMEs
Before, from 2009 to 2014, he was the Trade Commissioner of the Embassy of Spain in Miami, Florida. Since 2004 he was Director General of Information and Investments at the Spanish Institute for Foreign Trade (ICEX). Prior to this he was Deputy Director General of International Affairs at Banco de España. He also worked at the MIGA Agency of World Bank. He was a former Trade Commissioner of Spain in Düsseldorf, Germany and has occupied several positions in the Ministry of Economics and Finance.
At the moment he is President of CERSA (Compañía Española de Reafianzamiento) and President of Enisa (Empresa Nacional de Innovación)) and he has been before Member of the Board of IDAE, Pymar, Cofides (Compañía Española de Financiación del Desarrollo, S. A.) and Expansión Exterior.
He holds a Master´s degree in Economic and Business Sciences, and a Law Degree. Besides, he took a postgrade course on public management at IESE and he is a member of the Commercial and Economic Technical Personnel Organization of the Spanish Government, a body of high-level officials.
